Who uses this app
The app behind this site, Murphy’s Files Uploader, is a private tool used only by its owner, Ray, on his own YouTube channels. There are no other users, no sign-ups, and no accounts. This website itself sets no cookies and uses no tracking of any kind.
YouTube API Services
Murphy’s Files Uploader uses YouTube API Services to upload and manage Ray’s own videos. By using those services it is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
OAuth scopes and why
- youtube.upload — to upload the owner’s videos to his own channel.
- youtube.readonly — to check that the access token belongs to the owner’s own channel before anything is uploaded (an identity guard).
- yt-analytics.readonly — to read the owner’s own channel reports.
What API data is stored
The tool stores only the owner’s own channel and video IDs, upload status, and channel report numbers. All of it is stored only on the owner’s own computer — never on a server, never with a third party.
A daily retention job deletes stored YouTube API data older than 30 days.
Concretely, it deletes analytics report files under the channel’s
docs/reports folder and removes comment entries older than
30 days from the saved-comments file (docs/comments.json);
comment entries that stay keep only the comment ID and its timestamp, so
no comment text lingers. The owner’s own video IDs (the publish
record and manifests) are not YouTube user data and are kept so his own
uploads can be managed.
No sale or sharing
No data collected through YouTube API Services is sold or shared with anyone. The tool does not collect viewer data and does not run analytics on viewers.
Revoking access
You can review and revoke the tool’s access to your Google account at any time via Google’s security permissions page.
